Acalypha belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae and is a genus of flowering plants. It stands as the only genus in the subtribe Acalyphinae and ranks among the largest genera in the Euphorbiaceae family.

Soil:
Plant in fertile, moist but well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter
Water:
During the growing season, water the plant generously and apply fertilizer monthly. However, in the winter, water the plant only moderately.
Indoors, grow in a soilless mix in full or filtered light.
