Raphis
Raphis palm is the of the most popular palms. Rhapis also known as broadleaf lady palm or bamboo palm, is a species of fan palm (Arecaceae subfamily Coryphoideae, tribe Trachycarpeae) in the genus Rhapis, It has delicate heads of fan-shaped leaves. Raphis Palm grows happily in the tropical and shady areas receiving little or no sunlight. Raphis palm likes good air circulation and can look very decorative in the staircase, in warm patios in summers, providing it receives little sun. Planting & CareÂ
Sunlight:Â Keep the plant in morning sunlight for at least 3 to 4 hours or in bright indirect light.
Water:Â Water thoroughly in the summer and reduce watering in the winter and rainy seasons.
Soil:Â The soil should be well-drained and fertile for growing Raphis palm.
Fertilizer:Â During the main growing season (April – August) feed the Raphis palm with organic fertilizer once a month.
Temperature:Â Temperatures 16-27 degree Celsius.
Pruning:Â New fronds come out from the center of the trunk. Trim off lower leaves as they age and become discolored.
