Ficus Cyathistipula 140 cm
Ficus, common names include Strangler Fig and Banyan Tree, it has large, thick, oval-shaped, leathery leaves similar to those of Ficus Elastica. Prominent, pale pink-green veins stand out against the glossy richness of the leaf color. It can grow to over 30m tall with a spread of 200m and are some of the largest canopy trees in the world. However, it can easily manage their size as a container-grown houseplant to add height and texture to a room.Â
How To Care
Light: Ficus prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate some light shade. Direct sunlight may burn the leaves.
Soil:Â The Ficus requires fertile soil with plenty of drainage holes when being grown in a pot.Â
Water: Allow the soil to almost dry out before watering, then saturate. Make sure the plant has proper drainage, as it won’t tolerate being in standing water.
Fertilizer:Â Apply a weak dose of fertilizer once or twice a month during the growing season.
Temperature: Ideal temperatures are 16-24°C. Avoid cold draughts.
Pruning:Â Pruning the Ficus regularly will lead it to branch out more. Trimming and pinching keep your tree miniature.
