Tradescantia
Tradescantia, known as “Wandering Jew” or “Spiderwort,” is a beloved plant for its vibrant foliage and easy care. This low-maintenance plant adds natural beauty to your surroundings and even purifies the air. Its rapid growth, trailing habit, and simple propagation make it a favorite among plant enthusiasts. Planting & Care
Light: The plant, prefer bright, indirect sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can scorch their leaves, while too little sunlight can cause the leaves to lose their color.
Water: Tradescantia plants need to be watered regularly, but they should not be overwatered. The soil should be kept moist, but not soggy. If the top of soil are dry, it is time to water the plant.
Fertilizer: The plant do not need a lot of fertilizer. A balanced fertilizer can be used once a month during the spring and summer when the plant is actively growing. There are two types of fertilizers that you can use for your Tradescantia plant: liquid and slow-release. If you choose to use a liquid fertilizer, dilute it to half strength before applying it to the soil. If you choose to use a slow-release fertilizer, follow the package directions.
Temperature: They typically prefer temperatures between 60°F and 75°F.
Potting: When potting Tradescantia plants, use a well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage holes.
Pruning: Tradescantia benefits from regular trimming, especially during the spring and summer. Trim back longer stems to encourage a fuller, more compact appearance.
