Planting & Care
Light: Money plants prefer bright, indirect sunlight. They can also tolerate low light conditions, but they will not grow as well. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves of the money plant.
Water: Money plants like to be watered moderately. Let the top layer of soil dry out before watering again. Water the plant when the soil feels slightly dry to the touch. The exact frequency of watering will depend on the plant’s size, pot size, and environmental conditions. However, in general, you can water your money plant every 1-2 weeks during the spring and summer, and less often in the winter.
Money plants can be kept in the water also. For initial days water should be changed when it gets turbidity. But after the plant settles, change the water once every week or two.
Fertilizer: Fertilize your Money Plant during the growing season, which typically spans from spring through summer. This is when the plant is actively growing and benefits most from added nutrients. Use a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer with an equal ratio of Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), and Potassium (K), such as a 10-10-10 or 20-20-20 formulation. You can also use a general-purpose liquid houseplant fertilizer.
Temperature:They prefer temperatures between 65°F and 80°F (18°C to 27°C) during the day.
Potting: Money Plants thrive in well-draining potting soil. Use a high-quality, all-purpose potting mix suitable for indoor plants. Good drainage is essential to prevent waterlogged roots, which can lead to root rot.
Pruning: Regularly inspect your Money Plant for dead or yellowing leaves. Use clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears to snip these leaves off at their base.
