Qur’anic Significance of the Banana
The banana is mentioned in the Holy Qur’an as part of the luxurious and abundant rewards prepared for the righteous in Paradise. Referred to as “áąalḥin maḍḥūd” in Surah Al-Waqi’ah, it is interpreted by many scholars as banana trees layered with fruit. This imagery symbolizes comfort, continuous provision, and beauty in the gardens of Jannah. The reference to banana trees highlights the eternal nourishment and ease that awaits the believers, emphasizing Almighty’s mercy and the richness of the afterlife.

Sunlight: Bananas plants prefer full sun.
Soil:Â The soil should be well-drained, deep, and organically amended. Slightly acidic soil (5.5 to 6.5 pH) is preferred.
Watering:Â They need a lot of water and plenty of moisture in the air.
Fertilizer:Â Banana plants should also be fertilized. Use a balanced fertilizer once a month.
Temperature:Â Banana plants like consistent temperatures ranging between 75 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
Pruning:Â Â Before the banana tree fruits, prune it so there is only one main stem. After it has been growing for 6 to 8 months, leave one sucker.
