Pumpkin plant
The pumpkin is a large, round fruit with a hard outer rind and soft, nutrient-rich flesh, often valued for its health benefits and versatility in various uses.
Qur’anic significance
In the Qur’an (Surah As-Saffat 37:146), Almighty mentions growing a gourd plant (yaqṭīn) over Prophet Yunus (peace be upon him) after he was saved from the whale. Many scholars say this plant was a pumpkin, known for its quick growth, large leaves for shade, and soft fruit—perfect for healing and protection. This shows how almighty cared for his prophet with mercy and wisdom.
