The Punica grantum is a deciduous thorny shrub. Belongs to the Lythraceae family, also known as pomegranate or Anar. Flowering starts in late spring and continues into summer; under suitable conditions, the fruit should mature 5 to 7 months later. They are known for their antioxidant properties and many associated health benefits

Planting & Care

SunLight: Plant Punica grantum in a reliably sunny spot needs full sun 

Soil: Punica grantum or pomegranate needs full sun and a well-drained soil mix. Use a soil mix consisting of one part peat moss to one part loam to two parts sand.

Watering: Water regularly in the first month, as soon as the soil is dry. water once or twice a week during growth

Fertilizer: Add an organic amendment in the fall, such as compost or decomposed manure.

Temperature:  It will bear fruits if grown in areas with year-round temperatures between 30 to 40 degrees C

Pruning:  Remove dead or damaged parts of the plant and maintain the size & shape
