Water Lilly

Water lilies are the most popular aquatic blooming plants, come in lots of different colors, sizes, and shapes including pink, white,  yellow, and red. Place them in the center of a large container specifically designed for aquatic plants and let the crown of the plant rest just above the surface of the soil. The ideal location for this plant would be in the midground, in the center of the aquarium because it is a fast-growing plant.

Planting & Care  

SunLight: Water lilies require a full sun position to thrive. Ensure your pond is not shaded from nearby trees or shrubs 

Soil: Use a loam-based soil labeled for aquatic use, as standard potting soil is too fluffy and will float away when submerged.

Watering:  As an aquatic plant, water lilies need to be continually grown in water. 

Fertilizer:  Use a slow-release fertilizer specifically designed for aquatic plants. These usually take the form of tablets that can be inserted into the plant’s soil. Never try to feed the plant by adding fertilizer to your pond water.

Temperature: water lilies are more sensitive to low temperatures and can only be grown year-round in the warmest climates,  can’t tolerate water temperatures below 65 °F (18 °C)

Pruning: Water lilies don’t require any tactical pruning, it is best to remove the flowers and dying leave before they drop.
