Pilea spruceana houseplants are a member of the family Urticaceae and that offers unique leaves often variegated or highly textured, making it stand out. Most pilea varieties grow well on tabletops, countertops, or other surfaces, but are also fantastic choices for hanging baskets and other planters.
Planting & Care
sunlight: Pilea plants should be grown in bright, indirect light, but never in full sun.
Soil: They prefer a rich, well-drained potting mix.
Watering: The pilea group likes high humidity and has fairly high water requirements. Don’t let the soil dry out between waterings in the summer
Fertilizer: Feed monthly in the spring and summer using a half-strength solution
of a liquid house plant type fertilizer with an N-P-K
Temperature: Pilea plants grow best in warm daytime temperatures of 75°-80° with 10 degrees cooler at night.
Pruning: Pinch the tips of new growth on branching forms of Pilea to help keep the plant compact.
