Ixora Yellow
Ixora is a low-growing tropical plant and member in the Rubiaceae family and it’s also known as jungle flame and flame of the woods. Ixora shrubs are well known for their large glossy evergreen leaves that are oval-shaped and year-round corymbs of bright florets. The large flower clusters come in red make an Ixora plant well worth growing. Flowers are most prolific in summer.
How To Care
Light: Ixora is a sun-loving plant, blooms best, and grows more densely with direct sun for most of the day.
Water: Keep the soil moist, water the plant regularly with a deep soaking.
Fertilizer:Â If your plant’s leaves look yellowish, then apply standard liquid fertilizer which has high nitrogen every two weeks during the active growth period. Ixora prefers slightly acidic soil.
Temperature: Above 60°F is preferred even in winter.
Potting: Plant through stem cuttings which can be rooted with the help of a rooting hormone. Use a potting mixture of peat moss and then move the plants into pots one size larger each spring.
Pruning: Remove any branches that have been damaged by cold temperatures or that grow in out-of-the-way places to reduce the size of the plant.
