Syngonium
Syngonium plants, also known as Arrowhead Plants or Arrowhead Vines, are popular indoor houseplants known for their attractive foliage and ease of care. Syngonium plants feature arrowhead-shaped leaves that start off as small and heart-shaped but gradually become more arrow-like as they mature. The leaves can vary in color, with many cultivars displaying shades of green, white, cream, or pink, making them a visually appealing addition to any indoor space. Syngoniums are renowned for their low-maintenance care requirements, making them suitable for both novice and experienced plant enthusiasts. Syngonium plants are toxic if ingested, so keep them out of reach of children and pets.
Planting & Care
Light: Syngoniums thrive in bright, indirect light but can tolerate lower light conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch their leaves.
Water:Â Keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged. Water when the top of soil feels dry to the touch during the spring through summer.
Fertilizer: Feed your Syngonium plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer during the spring through summer every 4-6 weeks. Reduce or suspend fertilization in the winter season.
Temperature: These plants prefer temperatures between 60°F and 75°F (15°C to 24°C). They are sensitive to cold drafts.
Potting: Repot your Syngonium when it becomes root-bound, typically every 1-2 years. Use a well-draining potting mix, and choose a slightly larger pot when repotting.
Pruning: Prune your Syngonium as needed to maintain its shape and size. You can also pinch back growing tips to encourage bushier growth.
