BOUGAINVILLEA FEATURES
- Sunlight: Bougainvillea are sun-loving plants that require full sun (at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily) to bloom profusely and develop the most vibrant colors.
- Drought Tolerance: Once established, the plant is highly drought-tolerant and thrives in hot, dry conditions. Overwatering can inhibit flowering and cause root rot.
- Soil: They prefer well-draining soil (sandy or loamy) and do not flourish if kept in soggy conditions.
- Temperature: Bougainvillea is a tropical/subtropical plant and is sensitive to frost. It grows best in USDA hardiness zones 9 to 11.
- Maintenance: They are relatively low-maintenance once established but benefit from regular pruning to maintain shape and encourage new blooms.
LUCOPHYLUM FEATURES
- Leucophyllum, is a genus of drought-tolerant,
- evergreen shrubs prized for their soft,
- silvery-gray foliage and vibrant flowers that typically bloom in response to rain.
CYCAS FEATURES
- Appearance: Cycas superficially resemble palm trees or ferns, but are true gymnosperms. They are slow-growing, perennial evergreen plants that can live for many years
- Stem: The stem is typically stout, woody, and unbranched, often covered in an armor-like pattern of persistent leaf bases.
- Leaves: There are two types of leaves, produced in alternating whorls at the stem apex:
- Foliage leaves: Large, dark green, and pinnately compound (feather-shaped), forming a rosette or crown at the top of the trunk.
- Scaly leaves (cataphylls): Small, dry, and brown, these serve a protective function for the shoot apex and reproductive structures.
- Circinate Vernation: Young foliage leaves exhibit circinate vernation, meaning they are coiled like a fern fiddlehead before they unroll and mature.
